can the boycott work?

1. I have received so many sms’s and emails asking to boycott American products as well as products of companies that support or give money to Israel.

2. A whole list of products and companies were highlighted. I have my doubts if such a move will tell the Americans anything because the majority of the people I think would not really care. Yes they would forward the sms’s and emails but to actually boycott? How many of us would take the great challenge to do away with products or services that has been part of our daily lives?

3. It would be good if cohesively all of us 5 billion people make such a move but this would never happen. Even if 10% of us decide to do so, for how long can we sustain it and what would the real impact be?

4. The American economy and industries affects most nations in some way or another. A consumer type boycott is fashionable and perhaps the most emotional form of disagreement. I agree that we should all still attempt to do it in whatever little way we can but let’s try to address the real issue.

5. I think what would really work is for the UN to call at least 80-90% of all world leaders together and all of them collectively give a single voice warning to Israel and America that if they do not stop what they are doing to the Palestinians civilians in Gaza, the world will collectively and urgently take drastic actions against these 2 countries.

6. Will this happen? Who can gather and undertake such a mammoth task? If someone can do this, then i think such a move will make both Israel and America realize that what they are doing is wrong and that they should stop it.

7. Then i believe terrorism will cease to exist. It’s all an action and reaction activity dating back to god knows when. I strongly believe that the root of global terrorism is directly linked to these 2 countries.

8. Who shall be that one person or one nation that can command such a collective decision? One thing for sure it is not the United Nations! They have failed to be our voice no matter how hard they try.

Where is this “cowboy” that we have all been waiting for? Enough is enough.

  1. boycott? firstly, how many malaysians (especially muslims) are employed by american companies in malaysia…in oil&gas industry alone, almost all drilling companies are american companies and many local malays are working with these companies…and i heard today in FB someone wants to boycott MCD…how many malays work in MCD?…any malay companies willing to take these workers under their wing if all of them quit their job??!!!…

  2. Boycott will affect our economy too, the employees and franchisees are Malaysians. I personally think we have to stop doing global trading using USD or do any effort to weaken the dollars. As long as Federal Reserves produces the currency (USD) and controlled by the Jews (zionist).. we, the UN, the Arab world don’t have the power. I’m still reading Matthias Chang’s Future Fastforward.. a very good read to understand all these conspiracy theories.

  3. You guys all need to wake up and realize that its NOT the Americans and Israeli’s against the Palistinians – the Israeli’s only counterattack to Hamaz and Hezbollah….Really its the Arabs who dont give a shit about the Palistinians – if they really wanted to help them they could give up some of their own land to provide for them – a huge part of Jordan used to belong to Palestine…Rather the Arabs like keeping the Palistianian issue on going as its a way to raise support and sympathy for others – but its quite a pathetic way to do so…….We can even say that Hamas doesnt give a shit about the Palistinians (they just want political power) based on their throwing weapons over to Israel (FIRST) from SYRIA!!!! The Israeli’s treat the Arabs better than the Arabs do – I would know!!!! And lets get real about the UN – they created Israel!!!! So why do people wanna boycot the US because they support a Middle East democracy and a country that fights back (only liberal pansies would hate a country that fights back to protect themselves)!

  4. hmm great to have chanced upon this, nevermind that its probably “old” news. i think what we really should be boycotting are the corporations that directly/indirectly support the zionist movement not just any jew-owned or yank-owned business…and *chuckles* seriously now…would a boycott by a fraction of local muslims actually result in these known-to-be-zion-friendly (always do your research 1st) mega corporations like mcdonalds & starbucks to down-size or even go out of business? I seriously doubt it. Boycotting, if at all attempted by some (since we know that its impossible to get all local muslims to do it, but it still doesn’t mean one shoudln’t bother just because), should realistically achieve something within the region of sending a signal that if they were to continue their support for the zions, they should be willing to accept losing a fraction of their sales. I don’t know about the others but I think its quite selfish and even seemingly hypocritical for anyone to be reluctant to give-up a few luxuries in urban lifestyle which just about anyone (except maybe whiney kids) can easily do without and try to justify that by “panicking” about a far-fetched end-result. For me the decision-made was simple and quick. Considering i have not the might to stop the occupation/massacres, the only right thing left to do however miniscule is to stop myself from indirectly contributing to the wrongest cause. That way I’ll have the answer ready when i meet my maker :)
